Among my day-to-day inspirations: the eclectic music and art scene of New Orleans, the Louisiana landscape of wild tropical vegetation dotted with brightly-colored houses in stages of decay, and the children’s books of my own childhood and of my son’s — works by Maurice Sendak, Oliver Jeffers and, of course, Dr. Seuss. In my creations, I strive for a balance between artfulness and playfulness, employing dynamic color combinations with fanciful characters. My goal: to bring to life the wild landscape of a child’s imagination.
